Other Chinese Manufacturers Want to Bring Small Electric Cars like the Air ev, Wuling says this

Andrianus.my.id -Wuling's footprint in presenting a small electric car through the Air ev seems to be followed by other Chinese manufacturers. DFSK, for example, has stated that it will bring Mini EV to Indonesia. The price is not much different from Wuling Air ev. It is hoped that the DFSK Mini Ev electric car can cost under IDR 220 million.

Chery also seems so. Chery himself has exhibited the EQ1 electric car several times at Indonesian auto shows. It could be a signal that the small car will be sold in Indonesia. Unfortunately, Chery still hasn't opened up about launching this tiny battery-powered car here.

Wuling is arguably the pioneer in presenting small electric cars at affordable prices. In that segment, Wuling Air ev doesn't have equal rivals yet. Nevertheless, Wuling is not too concerned about these potential rivals. Wuling actually thinks that with new rivals, consumers will benefit from having many choices.

"Actually, the competition is from our side, we have to put in more effort to face the competition, but from the producer's side we have to face the competition but on the other hand it encourages us to innovate," said Brand and Marketing Director of Wuling Motors Indonesia Dian Asmahani when talking with detikOto.

Apart from the Wuling Air ev, no electric car is presented with a price below IDR 500 million. For example, the cheapest price for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is IDR 748 million, then the Hyundai Kona Electric costs IDR 742 million. Switch to the Nissan Leaf, which sells for Rp. 728 million. Beyond that the price has touched billions. The latest is the Toyota bZ4X which sells for Rp. 1.19 billion, to the Mercedes EQE 350 for Rp. 2.215 billion.

But if you compare the size clearly different. From the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and other models, they have larger dimensions so that their carrying capacity is greater. While the Wuling Air ev has dimensions of 2,974 mm in length, 1,505 mm in width and 1,631 mm in height. The carrying capacity will certainly be less than other electric-powered passenger cars.
